Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 30.11.20 | Kmart - Kurralta Central

Our team has been notified that a customer who visited Kmart – Kurralta Central on Sunday 22 November between 2.45pm – 3.10pm has returned a positive test for COVID-19.

The team at Kmart – Kurralta Central is following advice from SA Health including contact tracing and has increased cleaning and sanitisation of the store.

Our priority continues to be the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers, team members and broader community, and to ensure everyone can visit our centre safely.

We have also increased our cleaning roster since learning of the case, with additional focus on specific areas including; balustrades, retailer door handles, vertical transport, toilets, sinks, change tables and parents’ rooms, customer entry and touch points, information screens, as well as communal furniture throughout the centre. This will continue for the foreseeable future.

At this stage, the advice from authorities is for anyone showing signs of an infectious disease, including fever, sweats or chills to see a doctor immediately.

We’re Open Again!
**Update 22.11.2020

We’re open again! And we just wanted to say thank you for your continued support this year.

Following the South Australian Government’s decision to ease COVID-19 restrictions, we’re excited to be open again and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back!

Across our centre we have COVID safety plans in place and we’re implementing additional measures including:

· Designated queuing areas in key locations (remember to step on the dots)

· Increased sanitisation and cleaning of customer touch points and high traffic areas

· To remind visitors to keep a healthy distance apart we’ve got physical and digital signage and PA announcements

· Traffic and density management in our carparks and our malls

We’re committed to providing a safe environment, which means we all have a role to play so please help us stay COVID safe by:

  • Planning your shopping trip and using the closest entry to the store you are visiting
  • Keeping a healthy distance from other customers and team members
  • Wear a mask
  • Maintaining good hygiene including washing your hands or using the hand sanitiser provided
  • Respecting your fellow shoppers

Our essential stores and services remain open

**Update 19.11.2020
**From Thursday 19 November, only our essential stores and services will be open for you to shop for the products and services you need.

In line with government direction, visits are limited to one person per household and where possible you are strongly encouraged to wear a mask, including a visit to our centre.

Some stores may offer contactless click and collect and delivery services. For more information about contactless click and collect please contact the retailer directly.

The health and safety of our customers, retailers, team and community is always our highest priority.

Our safety measures remain in place, to ensure our centre is safe for those who rely on the service our retailers provide. These measures include:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser available in centre
  • Closures of playground and kids rides and the closure of massage chairs, until further notice

Please ensure that when you visit, you:

Our team has been notified that a customer who visited Coles – Kurralta Central on Friday 13 November between 8.30pm – 8.50pm has returned a positive test for COVID-19.

The team at Coles – Kurralta Central is following advice from SA Health including contact tracing and is undertaking a deep clean and sanitisation of the store.

Our priority continues to be the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers, team members and broader community, and to ensure everyone can visit our centre safely.

We have also increased our cleaning roster since learning of the case, with additional focus on specific areas including; balustrades, retailer door handles, vertical transport, toilets, sinks, change tables and parents’ rooms, customer entry and touch points, information screens, as well as communal furniture throughout the centre. Health and Safety Update 1.07.20

The safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers, team and community continues to be our top priority. While we continue to serve you, we’re taking extra precautions to ensure our centre is clean and hygienic, including more frequent cleaning, and encouraging healthy physical distancing and good hygiene.

We are committed to the safety of our community and will not tolerate unsafe behaviour.

Social distancing measures are in place across our centre to protect our community from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Practicing good hygiene and keeping a healthy physical distance between individuals is our most powerful weapon in fighting this virus, we ask that all visitors adhere to these measures.

We continue to take extra precautions within our centre to ensure it is a clean and safe place for you including:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Window signage and floor decals provided to retailers to assist with communicating physical distancing measures
  • Floor decals and physical distancing reference points in key areas
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser at all entrances
  • Where available, use our traffic counters and/or digital heat mapping to identify busy zones to help us to actively manage these areas before reaching customer density thresholds
  • Automated alerts on occupancy allowing our team to actively monitor how many customers are in the centre at any time
  • Additional team members in-centre during peak periods, offering hand sanitiser and reminding customers of distancing guidelines
  • Automated, regular public announcements centre-wide, communicating distancing expectations
  • Security officers are monitoring our centres, together with supporting local police enforcing social distancing requirements as appropriate
  • Precautionary closures of playground and kids rides and the closure of massage chairs, until further notice

Good hygiene practices

While visiting the centre, please help us keep our community safe by following the below good hygiene practices:

  • Wash hands regularly, including after touching common surfaces and after coughing or sneezing.
  • If you happen to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, then dispose of it, or if you do not have a tissue, cover your mouth and nose with your upper sleeve.

Current Update 25.03.20

In these uncertain times shopping centres will remain open to continue providing you with essential household items, products and services that you need during this time.

Following current government direction the following venues and retailers are closed temporarily - beauty therapy, day spas, massage, nail bars, laser clinics, tanning and waxing salons, cinemas, gyms, entertainment venues and pubs.

While our food courts are closed and we’ve removed all seating, many of our dining operators and cafés remain open for take away and delivery.

Our hairdressers are open with appointments limited to 30 minutes and the 1 person per 4 square metre rule applies.

With these changes in place, please check our store listing or with individual stores for current opening hours.


Update 23.03.20

A number of our restaurants and cafés will be offering delivery and takeaway services. Please see individual stores for details at this time.

We continue to operate within Government and relevant health authority’s guidance, this includes current advice to close:

  • Entertainment venues (including cinemas)
  • Restaurants, cafes & pubs. However takeaway services will become available. Please continue to refer to this page for takeaway service providers.
